concept art

This is my main character. I decided on a cartoon-like style but I still wanted it to look real. I will be vectorizing photographs and drawing what i have to.

Animation in Commercials

GEICO
This Geico commercial seems to be stop motion. The guinea pigs look very real so I am assuming that they are, or maybe they are really good models. Although Geico is selling insurance, they rarely ever speak about the features of their plans. Instead they focus on how they help you to save money. The entire thing is really funny because the idea is completely ridiculous. The humor is further accented by the on screen narrator who is talking in a very serious voice. Although it is funny it still works because their characters are very endearing.

KIT KAT
I would say that this is a 3d simulation. There was no audio per se and it was very long. Kit Kat is for everyone, but it appears that they were trying to target the working man (or woman) as if to say when you are stressed at work, have a Kit Kat. I really felt like it was overdone and it dragged on too long so I would say it failed.
SPRINT
This ad is really simple but still beautiful. This is definitely stop motion, but there is also some computer-generated graphics in there. Here they are advertising their mobile network with particular emphasis on its speed. The graphics were moving really quickly so I guess that’s how they conveyed that. The narrator’s voice is a bit dull though.
EVIAN
I really liked this because it was upbeat and funky. The target audience here is definitely a very young demographic because little children are singing and the graphics are also very juvenile. However their slogan is “live young” so I may be mistaken. Beautiful 2d animation, it is very cute.
FANTA
This 3d animated commercial is full of color and vibrancy so it is immediately eye-catching. Because of the street setting and the cool, hip people I would say they are trying to appeal to teenagers and young adults. They also keep the product very visible so the branding is effective, and the music is nice and up tempo so it grabs you attention.

This is definitely a work in progress but this is more or less what I have in mind. I like the idea of the outside being black because I think it would look stylish on glossy paper. As for the inside, I decided to put the center page red just to add some variation. The pictures I found online of course because I do not actually have a product so I had to source pictures.

So this is my letter head. It's basically my logo in the upper-left corner, and all the other information centered at the bottom. I also added two 'triangles' in opposite corners just to give it some balance because the top was bare.

So.. I have a few problems with the document setup- I dont see the borders for the document. The text box is visible and I dont know how to remove it but this is basically the finished product.

This is my second version. I still have not decided which one I want to us but this one actually has the right layouts and settings on it.

QUESTIONNAIRE

1)      What is your business?
We are in the business of love! Everyone hopes and prays that they will meet their soul mate, and now we make it easy.

2)      Describe your business in one sentence.
Our gadgets help you find love by telling you when someone’s right for you so you don’t have to fall for the wrong one and wind up lonely and heart- broken.

3)      Who is your target audience?
We cater to men and women of all ages. You’re never too old to fall in love.

4) Who are your competitors?
There are many dating sites and apps available. Some of the biggest ones are Match.com and E harmony. There is also a love calculator.

5) What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
My product has an advantage over any other existing product because it achieves the impossible. Unlike dating sites which simply match persons based on common interests, my product can actually tell if someone is seriously right for you. Of course this is a completely fantastical idea because the product itself can never work in real life.

8) How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
I would definitely want my company to have the reputation of creating long-lasting bonds and relationships.

9) If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
It would definitely be a pair of lovebirds, for obvious reasons. I don’t think any other animal exemplifies love like they do.

10) If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
I would choose Taylor Swift because she is young and dreamy; she looks like the hopeless romantic type. I believe that she has a good image and most people would be able to identify with her and as such develop trust in my brand.

11) If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
It would be a heart because nothing symbolizes love better.

12) If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
I would choose Beauty and the Beast. This cartoon was the ultimate love story of people of all ages will be able to relate and connect with the story.
